Workshops & Seminars

Our workshops are created with the individual in mind. Our setting is intimate and geared to stimulate the creative aspects of each attendee. We believe there is an artist living inside each of us, just waiting for the opportunity to express their unique perception of life.

Our workshops and seminars are facilitated by Mo'Kha Uzuri free of charge. All tools necessary to successfully complete each seminar are provided. And while there are  material fees for some of the workshops, they are never more than $5.00.

Donations are Encouraged

While we work hard to keep the majority of the workshops and seminars free, some expenses do occur, such as food and travel. It is Ms. Uzuri's hope that even when she is asked to travel outside of the state she can keep the cost as low as possible; your contributions help to facilitate that initiative.

 Worshops

Write Back 2 L.Y. F. (Loving Yourself First)

I believe we are all born with our self esteem and self confidence in tact. The sense of accomplishment from holding your own bottle to taking your first steps are some of our earliest triumphs. But somewhere down the road certain experiences dilute and taint what was once pure.

This workshop uses creative writing to assist in healing your past, rediscovering your true voice, self image and building the self confidence that will enable you to live your most authentic life. ($5.00 material fee applies. Sponsorship is available)

Seeing "Me" in Media

There is no denying that a lot of our self perception is based on the subliminal messages conveyed to us through the media. Billboards, magazines and TV reality shows have a lot to say about our beauty, our lives and the measure of our success.

This workshops teaches you how to positively interpret the information disseminated and to establish you own sense of worth, beauty and existence. Music and visual aides are incorporated into the exercises designed to assist in regaining a positive outlook on inner and outer appearance.

I Am More (Women's Workshop)

In today's society there are still roles that are gender specific. Let's face it we as women are valued and devalued based upon a limitless array of superficial criteria.

This workshop focuses on identifying the role you may have unwillingly or willingly accepted and how to break free from the boundaries established. You will be encouraged to create new guidelines and definitions for who YOU feel you are and so much MORE! Using a vast array of creative elements, you'll not only gain a stronger sense of self, but you'll form new bonds in the process.

Journey 2 L.Y.F. (Loving Yourself First)

Yes, this is definitely about relationships but it's more-so about the relationship you have with yourself!

This workshop is a more in-depth look at the negative influences in our lives that have contributed to a distorted self image and lack of internal love. Through the use of journal entries, prose and other creative exercises, you will explore the deepest recesses of your heart and identify what is at the root of your personal discontentment.  ($5.00 material fee applies. Sponsorship is available)

Seminars

Poetic Poise(A lesson on beauty expressed through prose)

Prose is a lost art for artistic expression. Writing has become an essential aspect of our daily lives and most of us express ourselves through social media or some type of modern device such as phone, tablet, laptop or PC.

Using the element of prose writing, Ms. Uzuri explores our societal, emotional and personal views. You will learn how to incorporate this poetic technique into your everyday life which in turns enriches your daily experience.

Peculiar (Becoming Comfortable with being a Christian)

We're not looking so hot according to the perception of us depicted through social media and other mediums. But that's okay, we are a peculiar people. (1 Peter 2:9) Our ways are often misunderstood, but we should have a clear understanding of who we are.

This seminar focuses on your identity in Christ and the importance of walking in the fullness of your divine inheritance. The lines between being judgmental and holding each other accountable will be made clear. Ms. Uzuri will also focus on how detrimental our actions and words are in leading others to Christ.
